Beautiful. A lesson that life & death are two sides of the same coin. As the essence of the nuns lives on in the marzipan, just as your parents live on through your writing.

I, too, loved, loved, loved marzipan, but I don’t think I’ve had it in 40 years. I have to go back to Sicily.🤩😍🤠

I have mixed feelings about St. Nicolas Day; there was much to love about it, but also lots to dislike and disagree with. A topic for another essay!

Yes, it has, but only after I left the Netherlands. My feelings relate to the version as I knew it from 2 decades ago.
