Your writing is absolutely sublime Claire! You transported me right to where you were, the dodgy cafe, the amazing architectural buildings, the adorably picturesque sea lions 🦭! I can’t wait to dive in to your back catalogue of articles.
Haven't been to Quito in at least 20 years...it was nice to be taken back...Also, I have two very good friends who are in the Galápagos Islands--thanks for giving me a glimpse into their experience!

Thanks so much, Nicole! That is lovely to hear.
I think encebollado is my favourite Ecuadorian dish! I can't wait to read more about Galapagos!
Thanks Flavio! I'm already writing the next episodes.

I try to imagine living here fulltime; what a wild and simultaneously calm life that must be.
Sea lions! I can't believe they get that close and they're just lying around all over the place! No one disturbs them or tries to touch them?
Not as far as I can tell. Travelers to the Galapagos seem to be respectful people.
I'd be interested to know how much it cost to get there and stay there. It's one of those places we'd like to go some day.
Thank you for your comment. I’ll consider answering this in a future post!
They look gorgeous. It must be a blessing to be surrounded by so much wildlife.
It truly is. A privilege and a blessing.
A wonderful post, Claire!
Thank you, Thaisa!
It's been a hard day's night
You can say that again.
Kind, kind of reminds me of The Human League
That’s interesting. In what way?
Just all the mosaic of colors and spectrum
Ah… that makes sense.
Loving that “hairdressers all over the world” tradition, Claire! So fun.
oh that last photo!
Sometimes, you don't see the sea lion until you're almost on top of it, and then... the sun happens to set.
