I've been struggling about how to write about how travel has decentered myself. Or maybe broadened my horizons without putting myself at the center. I've got one idea in particular that I'm not quite sure how to write about without making it about me when, well, it is partly about me. It gets complicated!
Thank you Claire. I would love to see a pink flamingo in real life. We don't have them in Ireland unless they are in Dublin Zoo. And I don't do zoos. Ironically I bought Vivian Gornick's book Fierce Attachments in Dingle Bookshop today (in West Kerry). Her writing appeals to me.
Oh, Fierce Attachments is brilliant! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did. Gornick helped me so much as I wrote my memoir and continues to guide me.
