Wild Ikebana! I was more used to the standard. Our neighbor on Maui went to Ikebana classes and would regularly bring over centerpieces that were pretty but quite tame. I think even she was a bit bored w/ what she was producing, thus, our oft received gifts. Love this post and I look forward to your artists in the wild series. Great idea Claire!

Hello Claire and Jeanine,

Thank you very much for your compliments !

Sogetsu ikebana is all about creative expression, so each work should be unique. Not only pertaining to the individual, but to the current emotion, time, environment, occasion, and so on. So hopefully, my ikebana creations never stay stagnant.

Wow. This takes flower arrangements to a whole new level. Saving this post. As a romance author, I feel this art form would make an interesting one for a female main character. If classes like this existed in my hometown, I would totally try it out. Thanks for sharing. Also, took a peek inside Hannah Kirshner's book and it seems like a fabulous read.
