Sounds fantastic Claire. I’ve traveled in Ecuador and a little bit in Colombia and Peru. And it was all wonderful. Enjoy!!

After San Miguel, it's Peru, because June is the right month for that. Before San Miguel, we're thinking Ecuador (mainly the Galapagos), Colombia (maybe), Argentina (maybe), and probably Costa Rica. We're making plans now yet more research is needed.

When I was 19 I traveled around the US by myself with a bus pass that would take you anywhere in the states. I didn't tell my family I was leaving. I had some plans to stop and visit friends and family along the way, but other than that it was me, my backpack, and at that time my bible. I am now 70 years old. About 4 years ago I went to the doctor for anxiety. I think I had this since I was a kid. I remember being nervous to do certain things, like run a race. I am a retired teacher and I told the doctor I wanted to live a much better life towards the end of my career. Maybe I needed that 19 year old next to me more. 'Berta

How courageous you were when young! I remember squeezing myself into tunnels while spelunking and cannot imagine doing that anymore.

Why do we become more scared as we age? Because we become more aware of death or stand closer to it? But we were probably living more dangerously before we learned to be scared.

It's a good idea, I think, to try and talk to our youthful selves when anxiety hits. They went out to face the world regardless.
