As an avid international traveler, we’ve been using Airalo for a good long while and have always been pleased. Best tip is to check out the regional v country-specific options. And know how to manage your data usage.

Yes, sometimes a regional option is best for shorter trips, covering multiple countries at once. Because I slow travel, I almost always opt for the country specific one that lasts 30 days.

I used Airalo frequently until it glitched and hijacked my physical SIM leaving me completely without any access. It took a week and two providers, both Turkcell and T-Mobile to get me back on track. I now have two eSIMs and no physical SIM. No Airalo for me.

Sorry that happened to you! I assume glitches can always happen but this sounds worrying. Do you use Ubigi now or something else?

I use my Turkcell eSIM card. It has not been cost prohibitive, but I’m sure that will change once I get to southeast Asia. I do have an older phone, and most likely I will try Airalo once more on that phone and see what happens.
